Tired of that weird white substance popping up on your WPC deck after a few months outdoors?

First of all, we need to make clear that these white substances on the surface are actually stearic acid, low-molecular wax.

How to avoid or reduce the occurrence of such situations ?

1. To reduce the addition of low-molecular wax and stearic acid during production, U-TIMBER uses calcium stearate as the internal lubricant, paired with high melt index EBA/EAA. This extends the duration of the core layer's fluidity, effectively cuts down the dosage of core layer flowing additives, and reduces the amount of precipitation.

2.We enhance the density and thickness of the surface layer material. The co-extruded cap layer applied by U-timber is mostly 0.8-1.0mm in thickness, far exceeding the 0.5-0.6mm commonly seen in the market. With optimized formulation, we minimize the intermolecular gaps in the surface layer, effectively blocking and slowing down the migration of small-molecule additives and plasticizers.

3. For daily maintenance, try to avoid cleaning the surface with hot water or alkaline solvents. If precipitation occurs, use a special synthetic solvent such as mineral spirits for cleaning to reduce the probability of re-precipitation.

Utimber co-extruded WPC decking is the top-tier pick in our WPC collection. Unlike the first-generation WPC boards, its HDPE co-extruded cap layer totally fixes the weather resistance issue of old models. Pick it for your outdoor projects — it's long-lasting and hassle-free. Make Utimber WPC decking your top choice for outdoor paving!
